GAP CREEK CAMPGROUND

Public BBQ

Gap Creek Campground offers both camping and day use areas including the Bangelow section, providing incredible spots for family gatherings. The campground features drop toilets, hotplates with tables, and access to Gap Creek Falls via a steep but rewarding walk. Super huge trees tower above, while bush turkeys and monitor lizards visit regularly. Quiet bush settings lack phone reception but deliver peaceful experiences. Lyrebirds sing interesting songs while kangaroos hop through the area. Sites aren't formally marked, operating on a first-come basis that gets very busy weekends. The area suits camping, picnics, bushwalking, and beginner/intermediate abseiling. Recent reports indicate maintenance issues with overflowing bins and safety concerns, particularly for solo campers. Leeches appear during warm, wet conditions.
